SPORTS TURF
Golf green and sports field surfaces are among the most highly managed parcels of ground in common use today.
INPRO sand is used by the best of the professionals in the Sports Turf Industry, including bowling greens, and parks where the granular nature creates small air passages for the free airflow of moisture and oxygen to roots as well as quick drainage of excess moisture.
Ideal construction and top-dress mixtures should have physical properties that are stable over time and which allow continuous use with minimum maintenance. Whatever your requirement, our particle size selection ensures job-specificity.
Our product range includes:
- Washed sand
- Lightweight Washed Sand
- Horticultural Perlite
- Vermiculite
Advantages
- Excellent drainage even in heavy rainfall and soil aeration.
- Soil aeration results in movement in air and water enhancing turf rooting, tillering and stem branching.
- Rapid turf recovery during adverse weather and playing conditions.
- Resistant to compaction.
- Reduces the need for regular irrigation and ground maintenance.
- Soil blended in proper proportions provides a non-stratified, fuller reservoir of resources.
- Centrally located, thereby providing a competitive alternative option for sand, perlite, aggregate or pumice requirements.
- Washed sand specifications as tested by ‘Fulton Hogan’ (Aggregate Test Report – Ref: 2003/2676/1).

The addition of INPRO perlite on a 20% by volume basis proved beneficial to all treatments evaluated but was of most benefit when the mixture was prepared with our medium/coarse sand. INPRO perlite and sand mix improved porosity, decreased bulk density and increased water retention versus the un-amended medium sands that failed match standards.
Thus, the positive effects of aggregate on the physical conditions of soil should help both turf managers and players (regardless of sport), meet their mutual goal of maintaining quality playing conditions for as much of the year as possible.
